EASO and AACE combined
These are the two most complementary infographics from the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO) and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE).
Both organisations have published updated guidance on the diagnosis and management of obesity in 2025, and there is substantial overlap between their frameworks.
The key principles are repeated by EASO and AASO. These include recognising obesity as a disease, defining its stages and severity, individualising therapy, and considering the pleiotropic effects of mono- or combination therapies to address the full spectrum of complications.
The ultimate goal is to ensure comprehensive treatment benefits and long-lasting weight loss, accompanied by reductions in other health risks such as cardiovascular events, diabetes, MASLD, and CKD progression.
